Backpack

Backpack for needlepoint shops on Clover

Clover is quick at the counter and staff pick it up fast. It is also often sold through a bank or payment provider, and the person who set it up may never have looked at your inventory. We take on the part nobody set up, so the register, the website and the books tell the same story.

Where needlepoint shops on Clover get stuck

Clover was built for fast checkout. A needlepoint shop asks more of it, with a deep thread wall, canvases painted to order and a website that needs the same counts.

A website that still shows last week's canvas

Most needlepoint shops on Clover sell online through a separate website. Unless something connects the two, every sale has to be entered twice, and the site keeps showing canvases that sold days ago.

We connect Clover to your website so counts move on their own, and build the link ourselves when nothing off the shelf fits. Then we reconcile both systems against the shelves, so you start clean and stay that way.

Mesh sizes as unrelated items

Clover can group related items, but many shops never set that up. Each mesh size becomes its own unrelated item, or one item is used for every version and the price gets changed at the register.

We organize each design so its mesh sizes sit together with their own prices and SKUs. Categories and names follow one pattern, so staff ring up the right version without hunting.

Hundreds of thread colors to search

Hundreds of thread colors are a lot for any register to search. Without a naming pattern, staff ring up a color that looks close, and two counts go wrong at once.

We name threads by line and color number in a single format, group them so they are quick to browse, and keep a short reorder list for the colors that move every week.

Deposits without the story behind them

Clover takes a deposit easily. Keeping track of what that deposit was for, and calling the customer when the canvas comes in, usually happens on paper or not at all.

We keep one tracker for special orders and finishing, linked to your customers, with designer, mesh, deposit and dates. Arrivals trigger a note to the customer, and nothing sits in the back room forgotten.

Tax settings from the day you opened

Clover charges the rates set on your account and items. Online orders shipped out of state, sales at markets and items with different tax treatment all need to be set up on purpose, and filing returns is a separate job.

We review your tax setup against where you actually sell and keep it current as that changes. Sales tax compliance is part of our bookkeeping, with a CPA involved when a question needs one.

Customer contacts that stay in the register

Clover holds customer contacts from the counter. Turning them into a newsletter, a trunk show invitation or a review request usually means another tool and an afternoon you do not have.

We bring your customer list into Mailchimp or Klaviyo, send a regular newsletter and new arrival notes, answer the replies and ask for reviews after good visits.

Sales without the designer attached

If the designer is not recorded on each canvas, Clover's reports can show what sold but not whose work it was. That is the number you need before market.

We attach the designer to every canvas in one consistent way and send you a monthly report of sales, margin and sell through by designer.

What we connect Clover to

Clover runs the counter. We tie it to everything that should know about a sale.

  • Your websiteShopify, WooCommerce, Wix or Squarespace, sharing one set of counts with the register.
  • QuickBooksSales, fees and deposits reconciled each month, ready for your CPA.
  • Mailchimp or KlaviyoEmail to the customers you already ring up.
  • GoogleAccurate hours, products and reviews where local stitchers search.

This is your back office operating system. Use only what you need. If you want bookkeeping and email but not the website, that is a plan.

Questions shop owners ask

Do I have to switch away from Clover?

No. If Clover works for your shop, we work inside it. Most shops need the setup they already have cleaned up and looked after, not replaced.

We got Clover through our bank. Can you still help?

Yes. Who sold you the device does not change how we work. We set up inventory, reports and connections inside your Clover account and leave your payment processing as it is.

Can you move us to another platform if it makes sense?

Yes. If a different register or website would fit your shop better than Clover, we will tell you plainly and explain why. If you decide to move, we plan it with you, bring over your products and customers, and check the counts against your shelves before the old system is turned off.

What does it cost?

Every plan is built around the shop, so there is no public price. You only pay for the parts you use. It is month to month, you can pause anytime, and the first 30 days come with a full refund.
