Backpack

Backpack for needlepoint shops on WooCommerce

WooCommerce gives you full control of your website, because it runs on a WordPress site you own. It also means you own the updates, the plugins, the hosting and the link to your register. We take that off your desk and keep the store matched to the shop.

Where needlepoint shops on WooCommerce get stuck

A lot of WooCommerce trouble in a needlepoint shop has nothing to do with needlepoint. It comes from plugins that conflict, a register that does not talk to the site, and nobody assigned to look after it.

A register sync that breaks quietly

Most needlepoint shops on WooCommerce ring up sales on a separate register, often Square, Clover or Lightspeed. The two only agree while a connector keeps them in sync, and connectors have a way of failing after an update without telling anyone.

We set up or repair the sync between your register and WooCommerce, test it after every update and reconcile both against your shelves. When it stops, we find out why and get it running again.

Canvases built as simple products

WooCommerce handles mesh sizes well as variations with their own price and stock. Shops that started with simple products end up with a mix that is hard to filter and harder to report on.

We rebuild canvases as variable products with mesh as an attribute, give every variation a SKU and record the designer. Customers can pick 13 or 18 mesh on one page.

A big thread catalog on a slow site

A thread wall can mean thousands of products or variations. Large catalogs slow a WordPress site down when hosting and caching are not up to the job, and slow pages lose orders on a phone.

We organize threads so they are easy to browse, then tune hosting, caching and images so the store stays quick with the whole catalog live.

Updates, plugins and the fear of both

A WordPress site needs regular updates. Skip them and the site gets exposed. Run them carelessly and checkout breaks in the middle of a trunk show weekend.

Our IT team handles updates, backups and monitoring for you. We test checkout after changes and fix things when a plugin misbehaves, so you never have to log in to the dashboard unless you want to.

Special orders split across two systems

WooCommerce does not know about the special order a customer placed at the counter. Deposits taken in the shop and canvases requested online end up tracked in different places.

We give you one special order and finishing tracker that covers the counter and the website, with designer, mesh, deposit and dates, and a note to the customer when her canvas arrives.

Tax rates entered years ago

WooCommerce uses tax rates you enter yourself unless you add a tax service. A rate table set up years ago may not match the states you ship to now, and filing is a separate job either way.

We review where you sell, set up tax so it matches your registrations and keep it current. Sales tax compliance is part of our bookkeeping, with a CPA available for the hard questions.

Email and reviews left for later

WooCommerce holds your customers and orders, but regular newsletters, abandoned cart reminders and review requests all have to be set up in other tools and then kept running.

We connect WooCommerce to Klaviyo or Mailchimp and run the program for you, from new arrivals to back in stock notes. We answer the inbox and ask for reviews after good orders.

Designer reports nobody built

WooCommerce can sort by category and tag. A report by designer needs the designer recorded the same way on every product, plus a report that reads it.

We clean up designer data across the catalog and send you a monthly report of sales, margin and sell through by designer, in store and online together.

What we connect WooCommerce to

WooCommerce is flexible, which means it connects to almost anything. We pick the connections that keep your shop simple.

  • Your registerSquare, Clover, Lightspeed or another system, kept on one set of counts.
  • StripeCard payments on the site, with payouts that reconcile in the books.
  • QuickBooksOnline and in store sales together, in a form your CPA can read.
  • Klaviyo or MailchimpEmail built from what customers bought and browsed.
  • Google, Meta and PinterestSearch, shopping listings and ads when you want them.

This is your back office operating system. Use only what you need. If you want bookkeeping and email but not the website, that is a plan.

Questions shop owners ask

Do I have to switch away from WooCommerce?

No. If WooCommerce works for your shop, we work inside it. Most shops need the setup they already have cleaned up and looked after, not replaced.

Should we leave WordPress?

Not necessarily. If your site is quick and the register sync works, keeping it is often the right call. If you spend more time keeping WordPress running than selling, we will lay out what a move would involve.

Can you move us to another platform if it makes sense?

Yes. If a different register or website would fit your shop better than WooCommerce, we will tell you plainly and explain why. If you decide to move, we plan it with you, bring over your products and customers, and check the counts against your shelves before the old system is turned off.

What does it cost?

Every plan is built around the shop, so there is no public price. You only pay for the parts you use. It is month to month, you can pause anytime, and the first 30 days come with a full refund.
